The Runners United Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) Initiative
Runners United is UTSA’s comprehensive Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) and Revenue Share initiative. It serves as the central platform through which UTSA student-athletes can earn compensation through both traditional NIL activities and the emerging revenue-sharing model. An NIL activity occurs when a student-athlete is compensated for the use of their name, image, and/or likeness, including endorsements, appearances, and promotions. In addition, under the Revenue Share component, student-athletes may receive direct financial benefits tied to UTSA Athletics’ generated revenues in accordance with NCAA guidelines and institutional policy.
Runners United enables UTSA student-athletes to partner with businesses, individuals, and UTSA Athletics itself for NIL opportunities while also participating in a structured, compliant revenue-sharing program that supports both player acquisition and player retention.
